Religious Education News
Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome to Mission Week. It is an exciting time for the students and staff at St. Bernard’s as we have had the opportunity to engage our Heads, Hearts and Hands in learning, understanding, and helping people in need.
I would like to acknowledge the fourteen students who have registered for the Socktober Penalty Shootout on Friday. Along with their sponsors they have raised an incredible amount of $947.00! This sponsorship money goes directly to the Good Shepherd Sisters in Thailand who, through their Kindergarten Centre, are bringing about generational change to some of the poorest communities in Bangkok.

Penalty Shoot Out
Tomorrow each grade will be holding their Penalty Shoot Out. A big thank you to Mrs Holmes who has used her PE lessons this week to give students the opportunity to practice their soccer skills. Everyone has had so much fun. Some classes have even used their Sockballs during these lessons.

Mission Liturgy
Prayer helps to express our concerns for those who are affected by poverty. It is an important means, in faith, to support our brothers and sisters who not only need material support but also spiritual support to live life to the full.
All parents, carers and friends are invited to join us for our Mission Liturgy this Friday at 11.20am. The Teams link to attend was sent home to you in an email on Tuesday. Our Year 6 SRC will be leading prayer.
Operation Christmas Child
Samaritan’s Purse is a non-profit, Christian organisation providing emergency relief and development assistance to suffering people around the world. Samaritan’s Purse is meeting the physical needs of victims of war, famine, natural disaster, poverty, and disease with the aim of demonstrating God’s love and sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ. The aid and assistance are given without regard to the race, creed, gender, religion, or ethnicity of the beneficiaries.
Thank you to Bailee H, Erica S and Mary L from Mini Vinnies, who spent time this week packing Christmas boxes for children in the Philippines. Mini Vinnies began fundraising last term for the Samaritan’s Purse Appeal. These boxes will be given to children as Christmas gifts this year.

Mission Prayer
Dear Lord, help me to be aware of all people around me every single day. Where there are people, there are needs. Give me Your eyes to see some of those needs and the wisdom to know how to help as well. Help me to be your hands and feet as I serve others right where I’m at. And allow them to see Your light in my life as I do work in your name. Amen.
Blessings on your weekend
